Built on an entirely new Deck and Hull design, the now largest member of the Explorer family boasts even greater fishing cockpit space, large cabin accommodation and true blue water performance credentials of the highest calibre.

“Our New Explorer 685 opens up even more fishing boat choices for our customers,” said CruiseCraft Sales and Marketing Manager Peter Benston.

“The Outsider 685 with a walk-around deck has long been CruiseCraft’s flagship offshore fishing boat. Our New Explorer 685 now offers the same performance with even greater cockpit space and a large lockable cabin. We have completely redesigned and built this boat from the keel up and are very excited with the end result.”

The sleek 6.85m hull is every bit the ultimate offshore fishing platform with a broad 2.5m beam offering an unprecedented 5.67m2 of cockpit space. The strength and safety of the CruiseCraft hull is accentuated with Foam Filled flotation and an outstanding 7 Year Structural Hull Guarantee whilst the 20° of deadrise ensures a smooth and comfortable ride.

Powering the New Explorer 685 is simple with a host of single or twin outboard engine configurations available under the maximum 270 hp limit. The cruising range potential is excellent with a recommended 225hp outboard rating and a Standard underfloor fuel tank holding 310 litres, an optional 370 litre fuel tank is also available.

Both fishing enthusiasts and families are well catered for with the Explorer685 boasting a super practical layout and even further refinement in detail and finish. Stainless Steel fixtures flow across the entire deck from the curvaceous bow rail and six rod holders to recessed coaming hand rails and seat frames.

The helm station will impress even the most seasoned of skippers with a huge modular instrument panel to accommodate the full array of electronics and navigational equipment. Adjustable helm and passenger seats are both comfortable and durable while engine controls, radio gear and a hydraulically assisted steering wheel are all well placed for easy operation.

Having built the New Explorer 685 from scratch, the CruiseCraft design team have created a larger deck and large cabin. The spacious forward cabin comes standard with upholstered bunks and cabin rails, a cabin light and windows plus a lockable sliding door for privacy and security. Adding to the family friendly layout, the cabin also has provision for an optional toilet and centre bunk in-fill.

Blue water fishing has heavily influenced the design of the New Explorer 685 with a huge fishing cockpit boasting all the angling essentials. Large underfloor storage tanks, aft bait box and padded side and rear coamings come standard. Add the optional Stainless Steel Targa, Plumbed Live Bait Tank and Removable Ice Boxes, and the Explorer 685 becomes the ultimate offshore fishing weapon.

The transom area remains neat while storing an array of essentials from the padded fold down rear lounge to the recessed tackle storage compartment and battery management switches. A transom door provides easy access to a swim platform and Stainless Steel Swimming Ladder.

The highly acclaimed Nichols family has again invested their proven boat building formula into the New Explorer 685. Serious fishing families or dedicated blue water enthusiasts who appreciate quality and workmanship will find no limits with the latest unveiling from the CruiseCraft stable.
